Leif walked out past Rizzen and whispered in his ear.

"You only wish you could have a lover like me."

Leif then left the Quarters, and Peregren. He got on a flying ship and was headed to the eastern continent. He didn't expect to ever return to the Quarters, but of course, one rarely experienced what they expected when they lived in Nerin Toth.

Rizzen stood from his table, when he saw the barmaid act funny.

She began to convulse.....then fell to the floor foaming at the mouth. He rushed to her side...

she turned on him......she had never ever been bitten and had turned undead.

Rizzen ran from The Quarters.

Massive amounts of people in the city were falling over, the same odd phenomenon happening to them as well.

The citizens of Peregren were all turning undead......

Rizzen ran for the gates.

Peregren was now lost to the undead forever.

Kyria left The Quarters heading toward the gates of the city. She wasn't interested in what Rizzen had to offer. The last time he aided her it was to betray her.

As she headed for the gates she noticed that people all over the place were falling. She stopped and looked around her. "Oh this is NOT good!"

She pulled her rapiers and looked at the gate calculating her chances with running for the gate or standing and fighting...

Leif was glad to be leaving. The ship just started to leave the dock, and it slowly hovered over Peregren. The breeze up in the sky felt good. Finally... Leif had a chance to run his life the way he wanted. He wanted to find somewhere away from the undead. Somewhere beautiful filled with everything his druid heart craved...

Suddenly, there was a lurch. Leif grabbed some ropes and was able to keep himself from falling over the edge. He looked to see what the man at the wheel was doing. He was convulsing, and growling.

Several deckhands noticed as well. The screaming from down in the city, and screaming on the deck sent many people on the ship into a panic. The wheel-master let go of the wheel and began to choke and scream in pain. The ship lurched again; some people tumbled over the edge.

The captain appeared, and pulled out his gun, aiming for the skull. The wheel-master pleaded to the captain. He wasn't ready to die, but the captain knew... it was already too late. Another deckhand grabbed the wheel.

How the wheel-master got infected, no one knew.

Leif continued to hold on to the ship's ropes. The ship had gotten off course and was floating over Southwest Peregren.

A gun shot rang out over the deck, only adding to the panic and fear. The captain missed! The wheel-master grabbed the captain's neck, biting down hard. Muscle and blood pored from below the man's neck, as he dropped to the deck. The new wheel-master was terrified. He couldn't leave the wheel, but no one was coming to help him...

Leif, seeing the man in danger, grabbed his scimitar and left the safety of the ropes. He started to charge up the steps to where the wheel was. However, the zombie tackled the man on the wheel. The ship bucked once again, and Leif had nothing to grab.

Over he went, so far above the ground...

Below, he could see the large building; the Quarters. There was nothing for him to grab. All he could do was wait... and wait... He didn't scream. He was in too much shock. He would never see Teseron. He would never know about Elan. Tears left his eyes, soaring into the air, as he plummeted down.

He waited... and waited... and waited... Then, no more.

When Leif opened his eyes, he layed on top of the wreckage of the ship. His shoulder was bent at an odd funny angle and he noticed a bone protruding out of it. Blood was everywhere. His arm stung, burned and felt numb all at the same time.

He couldn't move. It was then that he noticed that one of his legs were missing as well. He saw it on the ground about twenty feet away.

Blood was everywhere.

He still glanced around.

It was getting cold.

He saw Rizzen helping Kyria to her feet. He pointed at Leif.

Leif felt like he was freezing. He shook uncontrollably.

Rizzen and Kyria ran toward Leif.

Everything seemed to be going in slow motion.

"HE'S GOING INTO SHOCK!" Rizzen yelled as he knelt over Leif. Rizzen took off his red robes and quickly began wrapping them around Leif's stump of a leg just above the knee.

They sounded so far away.

Leif found that breathing was becoming difficult.

"FIND ALDION! WE HAVE TO GET OUT OF--"

A zombie tackled Rizzen off of Leif.

Two zombies rushed Kyria, she cursed Erron the with every swing of her rapier. It was in his arrogance that this plague was set upon the land.

Out of the corner of her eye she saw Rizzen knocked off of Leif by a zombie. Her first thought was to let him meet his fate, the bastard deserved it, but he owed her for what he had done and he would might yet prove useful to her yet.

With as much as it pained her to do so, she kicked the zombie from Rizzen, sneering at him.
"We need to get Leif to safety NOW!"

The undead rushed in. Kyria, Rizzen and Leif were surrounded. Aldion was missing, no one knowing if he was alive or not.

The corpse cannibals closed in.

All anyone would remember was red...
